The 3M Littmann Classic II Infant Stethoscope is purpose-built for the smallest and most clinically demanding patients. Its compact 2.7cm dual-sided chestpiece is sized precisely for neonatal and infant assessment — capturing the subtle cardiac and pulmonary sounds that standard adult stethoscopes can easily miss on small bodies.

The floating diaphragm side allows access to both high and low frequency sounds through pressure adjustment, while the open bell side is optimized for low-frequency sounds like heart murmurs and S3 gallops. A non-chill rim on both sides ensures patient comfort — particularly important for sensitive newborns and infants in the NICU. Soft-sealing eartips create a secure acoustic seal, reducing ambient noise for cleaner sound.

Directions

1. Insert the Stethoscope in Your Ears: Orient the eartips toward your nose.
2. Customize Headset Tension for Comfort and Sound Quality: Adjust the eartubes by pulling them apart or squeezing them together.
3. Select the Active Side of the Chestpiece: The stem includes a mark that designates the acoustically active side. Rotate the chestpiece to switch between active sides.
4. Utilize the larger chestpiece for adult patients and the smaller side for pediatric or slender patients, bandaged areas, or carotid assessment.
