The tapered 3-sided cut with a fine polished surface reduces skin resistance on entry, while the round tip shape (unique to Softclix) displaces rather than cuts skin fibers — causing less trauma and less residual soreness compared to conventional tri-beveled lancets. The 11 adjustable depth settings on the Accu-Chek Softclix lancing device allow precise calibration for different skin types and fingertip sensitivities.

How to Use

  1. Load a fresh Softclix lancet into your lancing device. Set your preferred depth (1–11).
  2. Wash and dry your hands. Choose a fingertip site — sides are less sensitive than the center.
  3. Press the lancing device firmly against the fingertip and release.
  4. Gently squeeze from the base of the finger to produce a small blood drop.
  5. Apply to your test strip immediately.
  6. Dispose of the used lancet in a sharps container after every single use.

Directions

  • Ensure hands are clean and dry.
  • Lance on the side of the fingertip rather than the pad.
  • Keep the skin taut by pressing the lancing device firmly against the skin.
  • Select a penetration depth as shallow as possible that still produces blood.
  • Alternate fingers daily and take the necessary steps to ensure good blood circulation.
